Maxie von Monschau is a beautiful 4 year old German Shepherd. She has the gorgeous coat and stance of a dog that could have been used for breeding or showing. Maxie is so affectionate, smart and anxious to please.  She is also house broken and an excellent watch dog when it comes to strangers.  Maxie loves children, walks (runs are nice, too), riding in the car, playing with her chew toy and chew stick, or just hanging out with our family.  Maxie has even managed to make friends with her foster brother (old, grumpy male) and foster sister (shy chow/shepherd mix).  Maxie is good with other dogs at or near her size, but small dogs and cats are just too tempting for her.    Judging by her joy at seeing and being around her foster family, her prior owners may have left her outside a lot, alone and ignored.  Even so, she already knows how to sit when waiting for dinner to be served or to go out for a walk, and she is learning to stay. She is a wonderful dog and some family will be very lucky to adopt her!
